Trying Open Office 1.1.2

I was thinking over the weekend that I wanted to save a presentation I did in June in Flash to make available online. So I go looking (online of course) for PPT to SWF tools and I learn (or maybe am reminded of) OpenOffice can save presentations to Flash natively!

A short (over DSL) download of 65 megs (before you groan, no way MS Offce can compare…this is the FULL install) and a quick install I'm off and running. I didn't even have to reboot (I did anyway). I opened my PowerPoint file in Impress hit export and done!

I haven't really played with any of the other new features. Used StarOffice 6 for several months and know the baiscs pretty well.

The flash file, BTW, looks great. I'm futzing with how to display it online, but take my word for it, it looks exactly like the orginal.
