Telecommuting is one of the fastest growing ways to work from home. Both the United States and
Canadian governments are encouraging telecommuting as a way to give workers more control
over their working lives, reduce traffic, and reduce pollution.

While you can just set up a home office and start working from home, there are
some consideration from both the employee's and employer's perspective that need
to be handled. Things like, access to the Internet, access to company e-mail and files,
file sharing and exchanging all need to be worked out. Also working through the
workplace social issues like “out of sight, out of mind” and how to effectively connect
with virtual teams are vitality important to the success of any telecommuting arrangement.
