Shared Spaces Briefing July 23

Great notes from Michael this afternoon. I actually talked
with Michael on the phone today. It was great to have a voice to
go with the posts. We share very similar interests in technology
and collaboration software. I hope I have the opportunity to chat
more with him (at least via e-mail)

I recommend the Globe &
Mail article. I also read it this morning. I wonder if it
is true though that people don't mind carrying around several
devices. I think the RIM model where you have PIM, phone, and
e-mail together is good. I think adding a camera is a tad over
the top.

The Poco systems client Barca looks worth some investigating and I already have WorkZone open in another window.

  • New
customer for the WorkZone collaboration tool from Trichys: Worldwide
Partners, a marketing communications professional services company with
5000 staff in 56 countries. “In our extensive review of web-based
collaboration services, the design of WorkZone specifically for
agencies made it an excellent resource. Ease of use was the critical
factor in our choice. WorkZone provides an intuitive interface that
requires little training, a critical factor that helps serve the
various languages and business cultures at the heart of our network.” eMediaWire

Networks is partnering with CASAHL Technology to provide a
bi-directional link between Groove Virtual Office 3, Groove's latest
peer-to-peer collaboration software client release, and backend ERP and
CRM applications. “A company could, for example, use the new connector
software so that a new order placed in its Siebel CRM system will
trigger a Groove workspace where authorized personnel could view
relevant data about that customer.” CRN
  • Winfessor
