  • Action Technologies released ActionWorks TeamWorks, a suite of collaborative and administrative project management tools for teams. TeamWorks supports knowledge workers “by enabling them to negotiate which work is to be done when and by whom, and then to assess whether the work has been completed as agreed”. Comment: Action Technologies has been in the collaboration and workflow space for a LONG time … it's great to hear that it's still pushing the boundaries. However, I find the product name a bit weird … perhaps ActionWorks Team would be more appropriate. Action Technologies
  • Near-Time released Near-Time Flow, a peer-to-peer collaborative content and knowledge manager product, built for Mac OS X Panther.   • New customer for Microsoft Office SharePoint Portal Server 2003: Nextel Partners. Comment: I wonder how many *free* Windows SharePoint Services sites it had before forking out for Portal Server? Microsoft
  • SINA Corporation, an online media company, Web portal and ISP in China acquired Davidhill Capital for its UC instant messaging technology platform. “The UC instant messaging service allows users to communicate in real-time over the Internet and mobile phone networks, via text messages, images and voice. UC also provides community services such as chat rooms, online games, alumni clubs, online karaoke and other entertainment services.
