Scriptless IE Not Worth It
A good piece of opinion. I'm surprised, actually, at how many sites didn't break with scripting and ActiveX turned off, but having your banking site kack out on you because you're trying to keep from having your banking info phished out from under you isn't good. I'm still happy with Firefox and given how long it seems to be taking MS to get XP sp2 out, I'm pretty sure I won't want to switch back. Here's a good quote though:
“ I don't want to give short shrift to Firefox, but when SP2 comes out, everyone's going to need to install it anyway, so if alternate browsers lose much of their security appeal, then IE becomes more practical, too. Of course, nothing stops you from running alternate browsers on SP2. “
Opinion: Whenever there's another security hole in Internet Explorer, they tell you to disable Active Scripting and ActiveX as an interim measure. I gave it a try.
