Rocketinfo: A Multifaceted Online News and Blog Search Tool
This sounds like an interesting tool. I might give it a try a little later. I did try Blinkx yesterday for a little while, but I think it was the culprit in some Internet connectivity issues I had yesterday. Regardless whether it is Blinkx (which when I was trying it I did think it was extremely cool and could be very powerful), Lookout, X1 or this tool the market is reacting to a demand from both info junkies like me and everyday users to help them find “stuff”. Hard drives and e-mail boxes are crammed with information we've collected over time. Then there's all the information online, which one can be pretty sure not all of it has been indexed by search engines.
With both Apple and Microsoft planning “deep search” desktop tools in the next releases of their respective OSes, and Google rumoured to be planning the same, I think info junkies and searchers are going to have a wide variety of choices soon. That should spawn a new wave of innovation in this sector. I'm looking forward to it.
