Online Dispute Resolution & Groove

Interesting post. I had heard about this earlier. Groove is an interesting choice for this. I think, really, any decent web-based collaboration tool, could've done the job.

Online Dispute Resolution & Groove 1Earlier this month, Sanjana Yajitha Hattotuwa, a Rotary World Peace Scholar at the University of Queensland, spoke at the Third Annual Forum on Online Dispute Resolution in Melbourne, Australia. The event was hosted by the International Conflict Resolution Centre at the University of Melbourne in collaboration with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific. Sanjana spoke of the work of Info-Share in Sri Lanka, which has seen more than 65,000 people killed in some 20 years of civil strife. Sanjana's presentation, titled Collaborating for Peace, is fascinating. How Info-Share is using Groove to support the peace process in Sri Lanka is inspiring (check out some of the screenshots), but as Sanjana concludes, “Technology can only augment peacebuilding, we make peace between ourselves and within ourselves.” If you would like more information beyond Sanjana's presentation, you can get a copy of a paper he wrote on the use of Information Communications Technology for conflict transformation and peacebuilding from the Info-Share site. Inspiring work from an inspiring individual…
