From Dave Pollard: Parallel Paths

Okay what to say about this post? Is is the serendipity of
Dave finding one of those two-degrees of separation links to another
blog that was talking about something he's just been thinking? Or
is it the last two points in the post: How to get people to keep
websites updates and how can you find the expert you need when you need
one?
I don't know. Both parts are
interesting and both parts, I think hit on the power of the
Blogsphere. I think that as more and more experts blog because
it's fun, they like to share, and they can connect with like-minded
people, more and more expert-seekers will find the experts through
their blogs.
These are all the reasons I
blog. I like to write. Writing everyday is good
practice. I certainly like to share my ideas and finding others
like me. And yes, I would like it if someone stumbled on my blog
and thought “Hey, this guy might be perfect for our project…”
So time to read more news and blog it…

Paralell Paths Converging from Dave Pollard

I'm going to do today what I almost never do, and that is talk about another blogger, one who I've never met and, until a few days ago, had never heard of. Mark Brady at Fourobouros (the name is a play on the alchemist's symbol of a dragon devouring its own tail, representing a state of constant flux and reinvention, and the search for value and values) came to my attention while researching my post on Corporate Anorexia. Recently he has been writing about this and also about — surprise! — George Lakoff (as have I), and the Wal-Mart Dilemma (as have I). His recent post on Lakoff included the phrase “Don't tell me, show me”, while my recent post on teaching children about nature included the phrase “we learn what we're shown, not what we're told”.
