Locking down software and tools, like internal blogs or company blogs, is not going to help in the long run. The people thinking outside of the box by tapping into these technologies early, are the ones who can help an organization leverage the tools as a competitive edge.
There are solutions to the challenges of IM, blogs, Wikis, etc in the workplace. I can't live without IM and Shinkuro. My blog is a creative outlet. Think about the possibilities for success instead of the risk.
