Blogging world wide
Interesting stats here showing the popularity of blogging
world-wide. The only (small) flaw in the logic is Blogspot might
be considered American. And while the company is American,
non-Americans do use it. Like I said, small flaw.
The important point here is the power of blogging in freedom of
information and democracy. Since it is very easy to have a blog
hosted far outside of your country and some blogs are even letting you
post over the phone, it will become harder and harder for closed
socierties and repressive regimes to keep information out.
Just as the web was a revolution, blogs will only aid in information sharing around the world.

Mobs: Worldwide blogging market share revealed and more worlwide
results than ever expected (already 260 000 blogs indexed)
Stephane Le Solliec (the person who has created the french weblog
solution Ublog.com) has created a tool who gives a panorama of actual
market share in the world blogosphere considering active blogs who ping
Weblogs.com and others, counting by domain names… So also by blogging
solutions.
It's called Bsentinel – scanning the blogosphere and the results shows
for about more than 260 000 counted blogs, and I guess for the first
time ever in the blogosphere, reveals some tangible market share of
blogging solutions.
