Worth Trying? Life browser for iPad

I think most iPad owners would agree that while Safari for the iPad is good, it isn’t great. I saw on TUAW their “first look review” of Life, so I checked out the site—It’s About Time: Life web browser for iPad. I was expecting a price higher than $1.99. So now I’m wondering if it’s worth a try. Hmm.

I did get it. I didn't like it as a Safari replacement, but it is good for looking things up. Needs stuff like instapaper integration, but I'm sure that's coming. The pre-loading works well for sites like Techmeme and CBC.

I'd probably by it if you could set the iOS to make it the default browser,
as you can with desktop OSes, but it'll be a cold day in hell before Steve
Jobs permits anything other than Mobile Safari to be the default.

I wish I could make it the default browser just to test it out for real surfing. But the UI and use is nice. I'll show you some time.
