Huge change! Flock Leaves Firefox for Chrome!

Dunno, if this isn’t a “holy crap, Firefox is toast” piece of news I don’t know what is:

Flock made its name as a Firefox remix that came loaded with custom add-ons for tightly integrating social networking with daily Web browsing. Just opened to the public, the Flock 3 beta keeps its social goals intact while replacing its Firefox base with Google-supported Chromium. The new Flock experience is vastly different than before, and is related to the old version in name only. via New Flock divorces Firefox, snuggles up to Chrome | The Download Blog – Download.com.

I guess if Flock thinks Firefox isn’t worth it anymore, I wonder why we should still use it?

That was a bit of a shocker, with the long delay and little news I thought Flock might be dead. Now this.
It is a very small part of the browser world but it immediately made me question to future, not of Flock, but of Firefox. I guess one of those perception is reality moments.
On the other side it comes as Windows only – I guess to be expected – but leaves me out of actually trying it anytime soon.
