The site formerly known as A View from the Isle

Fine, I give I’m changing the name of the site. I know that I don’t live on an island anymore. I used to, really:

  • Salt Spring Island 2000-2005
  • Pender Island 2005-2006
  • Vancouver Island (Victoria) 2006-2008

I moved to Vancouver in the summer of 2008, but I kept the name of the site as is. No, it wasn’t a case of “I’ll move back to an island someday…” it was “I’m really (overly) tied to the name, so I’m keeping it.” So after much prodding, poking, and teasing (intermixed with lame excuses on why I don’t change the name), I’ve changed the name.

Welcome to: TrisHussey.com

Yeah, yeah not very creative, I know. Honestly I didn’t want to fuss over “what’s a good name for this blog” or have a contest for a new name or muck about any longer. In reality, just calling this site TrisHussey.com is fitting. It’s my place online. It doesn’t need an extra name, it’s me. I’m Tris Hussey and this is my site. The URL has been trishussey.com for a long time, and hasn’t ever been aviewfromtheisle.com, so in reality I’m just acknowledging the fact that: this is me and my online identity.

Simple as that.

Simple as TrisHussey.com

Whoa! That’s some serious change and yeah I always wondered about your blog name but figured it was leftover from Vancouver Island.

    • http://www.trishussey.com/ Tris Hussey

Well you guys have been bugging me about it for almost two years now. So it’s time for a change. I guess.

change is good. change is healthy. change opens new doors for something new. Or at least that’s what I keep telling myself.

Oh, and I totally enjoy when the server’s working, the progress at the bottom of my browser says “waiting for trishussey.” that just amuses me.

Okay, that makes more sense. I guess I never really thought about why it was called that!

You could always have moved to Richmond, right? ;)

Thanks guys. Well I would have had to move to Sea Island, that would have worked. Maybe Granville Island. Still, yeah, it’s time to tie it all together isn’t it?

I’d wondered about the name myself.
The picture is much clearer now.
Spent 20 years on Vancouver Island myself and 25 years of family spot on Mayne.
