It just takes far too long to get anything done. Granted, there are some things Drupal does very well, but those tend to be things that fall into the category of niche sites (like ones where there needs to be a lot of different content types). Do let me know when your plugin is ready for testing. I'm looking forward to playing with custom post types as I work on the book. That's exactly it. I'm not a huge fan of Drupal, but I know that it's a strong platform and great for a lot of things. Just not great for building a basic, single user blog. Too many people get way too religious about their tools. I started out with WordPress and still think it's great.
