Everyone knows that social media is hot. Everyone also knows that you should monitor social media for your brand and name, but what about taking it to the next level and using social media to gain a business advantage?

Welcome to Social Media for Competitive Intelligence.

I’ve been working on things like this since 2004. First based within blogs, but always using various search tools to comb through the Internet to monitor brands and gather other nuggets of info. Now I’m adding social media to the mix.

On July 28th I’m going to be giving a class as part of Kontent Creative’s Summer School Workshop series on setting up your own monitoring tools for competitive intelligence. More info and the link to Eventbrite is on the Kontent Creative site: Kontent Summer School Workshops | Kontent Creative Group Inc.

The cost is $50 a person, but you’re going to be at a hands on workshop and come away with a bunch of my tips, tricks, and tools that I’ve been using to monitor companies, brands, topics, and me.

Don’t be shy with your questions either, come armed with them. I’ll also take examples from the audience and do real-life examples during the class. Let’s see what goodies we can find, shall we?

Thanks to Jessica and the folks at Kontent Creative for inviting me to speak. It’s going to be a fun time.

I use social media for branding and networking while link building. I believe social media offers tremendous opportunities and I'm not talking about Twitter.
