With the end of act one …
Heck you can you can read the others for a plot synopsis (Kimli, Tanya, Rebecca, So Misguided ), for me this is about Sheila. I came to see her and would have gladly paid top dollar to be here.
What can you say when you get to see the person you love on stage, doing what they love, and doing it … well awesome of course.
I’ve been waiting months for this night. Listening to her practice. Going to other performances. Learning what life is like living with a self-professed diva.
So of course the opera is thrilling. Very different from both Onegin and Carmen. Not surprising though, eh?
The thing that got me here to the opera was dating a performer. For others it might have seemed like the thing you do to because it’s the cultured thing to do. What you should know it’s about the music and the acting. It’s theatre. It’s theatre grander and more intense than a play or film. Consider that now most of us don’t speak the language being sung, the performers must be able make us know and feel what is going on.
What are the emotions? What is the story?And now… it’s back for Acts 2 & 3.
Oh and the after party.
