So my finger or hand brushes the pad and a context menu pops up. There is hope though because I have Intrepid installed via Wubi on my laptop and the Synaptics touchpad controls work just dandy. If it's double clicking when you touch it then there's probably a section for it in the xorg.conf file that you can add a line to to turn that off.
