The blognation family has grown again with the official launch today of blognation Ireland…
The Irish site is part of the blognation network which is building up to be the biggest tech news site on non-US Web 2.0 startups around the globe including EMEA, Asia-Pacific, Latin America and Canada.
For a country of only four million people, Ireland has always punched above its weight in many areas. In Web2.0 too, the signs are all good for many start-ups to grow businesses with international appeal. Source: blognation Ireland technology ? Blog Archive ? blognation Ireland Launches
And this post also marks a “well the the cat’s out of the bag…” post. Conor noted that Canada was among the sites, but wait, where is blognation Canada? Is it live? Who’s responsible for it? What is it going to cover?
Yeah you’ve probably guessed by now, I’ve joined blognation and will be the editor for blognation Canada. Launch should be this week, Sam and I tried for last week, but Gnomedex got in the way. Probably a good thing too because there was enough going on last week–I think it would have just been bad timing for a launch.
Right now I’m going to cover tech and mobile for Canada, we’ll see if I need pull another editor in as time goes on.
This is extremely exciting for me personally and professionally. The other people involved in bn are amazing and I’m meeting more bn editors all the time (which means, yes there are more countries coming online all the time–like blognation U.S. led by the one and only Oliver Starr!). In answer to a question that is probably on your mind, no I’m not leaving One By One Media or b5media. Yes, my fingers might be tired sometimes, but one of the key parts of bn is both the diversity of editors and perspectives and how connected we are to many facets of social media. I think Sam expects us all to be very busy humans both for bn and for other cool projects we’re involved in. It’s all good. Hmm, maybe Sam has secretly hoarded stock in several coffee and tea companies
.
Regardless, look for the launch of blognation Canada very soon and if you have tips on Canadian start ups, events, tech news, mobile news, etc … please feel free to zap me at tris.hussey [AT] blognation [DOT] com.
Stay tuned for URLs etc.
