Clipmarks acquired by Forbes

I first learned about Clipmarks from Jim after SXSW.  I did give it a try, but didn’t have a lot of use for it, since I was still on Blogware so the rapid posting features were but a pipedream for me.  Learned today that the folks at Clipmarks have been acquired by Forbes:

Clipmarks, one of the many startups that helps users collect and organize information from around the web, is being bought by Forbes Magazine, an inside source tells us.

The New York-based startup lets you select text, photos or videos on web pages, then use Clipmark?s bookmarking feature to save the URL and your selected information to your Clipmarks folder. From there, you can share your ?clips? with friends and colleagues and even search to find the most popular clips on the Clipmarks site. Source: VentureBeat ? Forbes buys social bookmarking site Clipmarks

Congrats to the whole Clipmarks team and you Forbes readers…man you’re in for a treat, cause this is one slick piece of software for gathering, sharing, and posting information.  Hmm, maybe time to give it another shot, eh?
