War driving for power

Ah life on the Coast.? Out here in Southern BC we've been nailed with three big storms in like 7 days.? Each one has brought its own rash of trees down and power outages. This morning as Lorraine work up early to open the store she let me know that we had no power, again.? After a little debate from 5 AM to 6.30 AM, I decided to head over to Victoria to search for power, WiFi, and Christmas presents.

So here I sit on the 7:45 sailing of the Mayne Queen (aka the Maybe Queen … maybe you'll make it on, maybe you won't), I'm just dashing out this blog post (offline, of course).

John Furrier, who is my boss at PodTech (or is it Scoble or Maryam) inspired the title of this post when we were chatting last week, during a power outage.

All I can say is that I hope Santa brings me a generator for Christmas.? Not a battery backup, a genny.? Here's to hoping.
