I guess you can't trust U-Haul

Lorraine's brother and family are moving out here to Pender this weekend.? Their house in Edmonton is sold and they have to be out of it tomorrow noon.? The plan was to pick up their reserved U-Haul truck today at 10 AM and start the drive out.? Guess what?? No U-Haul.? Not there, not available.? Even worse, get this, in the contract they aren't responsible for the delay!? So Lorraine's brother is scrambling to find a place for stuff that won't fit in his truck, his wife and kids are enroute due here on Saturday.? Lorraine's brother?? Not sure at the moment.? Sunday at the earliest, Monday is likely.

For all this hassle and crap, all U-Haul can say is sorry and there is a 1-2 delay in the truck's availability.? I knew about their spotty maintenance record, but this just takes the cake.

    Oh thank goodness Mom rented a Penske. She left Tennessee with everything she owns this morning and is coming to TX. w00t! (I think.) Sounds like lots of family fun for all – whenever Lorraine's arrives anyway. Good luck to them.

    Well U-Haul came through in the end. Well kinda. He got the truck, but he got it too late for his buddy to help drive out. So Lorraine's brother has to fly back to Edmonton to get his truck and drive back!
    On the just desserts side, his dog barfed in the cab of the truck. I suggested parking it in the sun before he drops it off. :-D

    when i was reading your post, i coultn't help but think if it was a last minute U-Haul thing. knowing that you'd be moving, maybe you should have planned ahead or something.
    things can't always be available as we want it to be.
