I don't have to call support often, but when I do, it's usually a doozy.? Well I needed to call Microsoft today.? I've been having strange issues with my XP Pro desktop machine and thought, "hey let's do a non-destructive rebuild" … there is a great how to at InformationWeek on how to do it … okay … the rebuild went fine (running between the computer, cooking dinner, watching Hell's Kitchen Finale, and making dessert), activation, though, didn't go so well.? I used a license key I had on hand for the install and well now I can't activate XP Pro.? Can't login until I do.? So after like two hours with Microsoft tech support, they had to reschedule the call (I have a meeting soon and needed a break in a big way).? However the support folks there were great.? Clear instructions.? Nothing too hard or complicated to do.? A very positive experience.
No the problem isn't fixed, but I'm not really upset.? I know the files are all okay.? I'm pretty sure that it will get resolved (any XP experts out there who'd like to help?).? So, Lorraine is using my machine to check her e-mail and blog.
Let's hope tomorrow it gets resolved.
